The DRE boasts an extremely high level group of instructors, ready to use their ability and talent to assist the students. From legendary world champions to instructors specialised in safe riding courses, you will work with only expert, qualified instructors on every course.

Dario Marchetti

Technical Director and Chief Instructor

A very experienced rider who has triumphed in various races and national/international championships, he has raced across all categories, including 250GP, 500GP, Superbike, Endurance. He won the Daytona Battle of the Twins with Ducati in 2004 before repeating the feat, again with Ducati, in both 2006 and 2007

Marco Melandri

Marco Melandri began his racing career in minibikes, winning the Italian title in two seasons: 1992 and 1994. He then switched to one-make racing, winning the Honda trophy in 1996 and this triumph took him into the Italian 125cc Championship which he won on his debut in 1997.
Marco was now truly ready for championship success and in fact in 2002 he was crowned 250cc world champion after dominating the season and winning nine races.
In 2011 the Italian switched categories and made his debut in World Superbike, scoring his first win in the second round at Donington and going on to finish runner-up. In 2017, the Italian rider returned to form part of the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team. In his first year on the Ducati, Melandri claims one memorable win at Misano (which marks the 100th triumph by an Italian in SBK) and several podiums to finish 4th in the general standings.

Alessandro Valia

With ten years of experience as an instructor, he was Italian Superstock 1000 champion in 2002 with the Ducati 998. He competed in the SBK World Championship in 2002, again with Ducati, and won the Alpe Adria Cup in 2001 and 2002. Winner of the Ducati Desmo Challenge in 2009 and 2010, in 2015 he won the National Trophy with the Ducati 1299S. he has been an official Ducati test rider for production bikes since 2007.

Michele Pirro

He has raced in the world 125, Supersport, Moto2 and MotoGP championships, winning the Valencia GP in 2011 with the Moto2. He has been the official Ducati Corse test rider for MotoGP since 2013 and takes part in various MotoGP races as a wildcard. In 2015 he won the Italian Superbike championship riding the Panigale R with the Barni team. He competed in World Superbike race with the Panigale R of the Aruba Ducati team and participated in several MotoGP races with the Ducati Test Team’s Desmosedici. In 2017 he wins again the Italian Superbike championship riding the Panigale R with the Barni team. In the last two years he was still part of the Ducati Test Team as the official development test rider, scoring a fantastic fifth place finish in Misano.

Manuel Poggiali

The 125 world champion in 2001 and 250 world champion in 2003, Manuel is now an instructor, passing his knowledge onto participants in the DRE track courses. He returned to racing in 2013, competing in the Italian Superbike championship, first with the Panigale 1199R of team Grandi Corse and then with that of team Barni. In 2018 he will take part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans on the Panigale 1199 of the Special Team Ducati.

Michael Rinaldi

One of the most promising riders of the Superbike championship. Winner of the Superstock 1000 european championship in 2017, this year he will take part in the european rounds of World Superbike riding the Panigale R with the Aruba.it Racing-Junior Team.

Samuele Cavalieri

Part of the CIV, Italian Superbike championship, where he conquered some podiums riding the Panigale R with the Barni Racing team.

Giancarlo de Matteis

A 5-time national champion, he has competed in World Superbike and World Endurance. In 2007 he won the Daytona 300 Miles.

Yani Todisco

French champion on several occasions, in 2015 he won the Protwin with the Panigale R of team Ducati Marsiglia. In 2017, as well as participating in the Protwin championship, he will also compete in the French Superbike championship with the Panigale

Franco Battaini

He has raced in the 250 world championship, winning the IRTA Cup, the prize for the best privateer, on four occasions. He was Ducati MotoGP test rider until 2014 and is currently one of the riders of the Ducati Two-Seater.

Lorenzo Zanetti

He has competed in the Superstock, Superbike and Supersport world championships, winning at Monza and Imola. Also in 2018, he will race in the Italian CIV Superbike series with the Panigale R of team M.Motocorsa Racing.

Luca Scassa

Superbike and Superstock champion, he has raced in World Superbike, World Supersport, AMA and BSB.

Gianmaria Liverani

Italian champion on several occasions, he has raced in World 500 GP, World Superbike and World Endurance. Gianmaria is a cornerstone of the DRE and has used his kindness and professionalism to help generations of bikers to improve their on-track performance.
